Have you started your garden yet?
Those long cold weeks in Houston passed slowly. Especially the ones where there was no electricity. When leaving Dallas I was about to come down here without the stack of quilt tucked away in the window seat. Boy, am I glad I didn't leave them there. I thought Houston didn't have cold winters. My home is blessed with a gas range and I put it and many candles to good use.
Now it's spring, even if a cool one. Many of my seeds are starting to sprout. Lots of vegetables and flowers will soon be adorning my flower beds. Soil in my area is clay, so I had to add a lot of amendments, particularly in the veggie garden. But it looks like it will be paying off. It rains often right now, so I don't have to water so much. No doubt that will change in a very few months.
Still sorting through boxes of stuff I brought. Not fun, but finding interesting things I forgot I ever had. Today I am struggling to move a lot of pictures from my cell phone to my computer. There should be an easier way. Bought a small BBQ grill. Thought I was going to starve before I had meat that was not raw. It was really good. I'm looking forward to my watermelons for summer eating to go with another cookout.
If you don't have a big yard where you can plant things, get a pot that fits your space. House plants are good for your health, Flowers feed the soul.
Have a blessed day,
Gael Golden
